Job Summary:

The Data Transmissions Engineer will have expertise in IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG)/B2B Integrator Sterling Secure Proxy SEAS and Control Center.

This position requires an expert-level knowledge of these technologies.

The engineer will provide third-level support for the data transmission software hardware data and infrastructure components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific activities may change from time to time
Responsible for installing/upgrading configuring and supporting the SFG infrastructure.
Supports environmental changes which includes gathering requirements for system changes.
Will provide third-level production support covering 24/7.
Monitors the infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and makes recommendations for the elimination of areas that are susceptible to failure.
Stay up to date on all aspects of security related to the Sterling environment and integrations.
Attend and sometimes lead recurring project status meetings via conference call.
Multi-task and work independently while applying logic and discretion.
Applies in-depth knowledge of application support and an understanding of best practices.

3-5 experience in SFG/B2B Integrator Sterling Secure Proxy SEAS and Control Center performing installs administration and configuration.
Understanding of network protocols firewall configuration and security concepts.
Good experience with IBM mainframe Windows and Linux system administration.
Working knowledge of security certificates.
Experience in handling production support engagements.
Ability to perform a broad range of tasks and project assignments concurrently through effective prioritization of work.
Be self-motivated and self-managing demonstrating sound judgement and effective decision making.
