Rutgers The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Principal Laboratory Assistant for the department of Neuroscience & Cell Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Performs the routine work involved in cleaning and sterilizing of laboratory equipment as well as a variety of general laboratory services for the RWJMS Basic Science Departments (N&CB Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Pharmacology). Among the key duties of this position are the following: Cleans dries and sterilizes glassware and other washable items in accordance with the proper procedures and techniques. Distributes and stores sterilized items in accordance with established procedures. Operates and performs simple maintenance on equipment utilized in the washing drying and sterilizing of glassware. May assist in the mixing of simple chemicals and solutions and in the conduct of experiments. Performs duties involved in the general cleaning and daily analysis / maintenance of equipment case of radioactive glassware separates from regular glassware and cleans and/or hand washes as required.
