The engagement of the Community Systems and SBCC Lead will close a critical gap being experienced across 2 implementation states resulting from the resignation of Garba Idris. Key deliverable on the programme in alignment with the very conservative northern Nigeria context is SFHs critical engagement with religious traditional and community leaders for an enabling environment in programming around Family Planning for adolescent girls.
This role is strategic in managing/mitigating risks that arise from programming in topics and fields considered sensitive to conservative northern Nigeria. The job area is also an emerging one in alignment with the Government of Nigeria SWAp and MAMII initiatives.
Specific Purpose of the Job:
The Officer leads and coordinates TA and implementation across six broad technical areas:
1. Government & Community Systems Strengthening for Demand Generation
2. Adaptive Implementation and Innovation (HCD-Aligned)
3. Holistic Girl Capital Data Management Analysis & Use
4. Capacity Building Mentorship & Performance Tracking
5. Strategic Engagement Coordination & Resource Alignment
6. Planning Budgeting Knowledge Management & Reporting
Technical:
- Adaptive implementation HCD and D2A
- Context-specific demand generation principles
- Community and stakeholders engagements
- Holistic Girl Capital outcomes.
Behavioural:
- Results-oriented.
- Process-driven.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Proactive and resourceful
Requirements
- BSc./BA degree in Comms Health Management Social Sciences or related fields.
- An observable commitment to professional improvement will be an added advantage.
- 7 years experience in an equivalent role with progressively increasing responsibility in a fast-paced working environment.
- Knowledge of national SRH and RMNCHN strategies and familiarity with the northern context.
- Demonstrated experience in community systems strengthening and skills in stakeholders engagement.
- Understanding of the Human Centred Design principles.
- Experienced working with government health and development leadership at the State level in a technical advisory role especially in the use of programme learnings or other communications materials for policymakers.
- Good experience in capacity assessment training coaching and mentorship.
Required Skills:
The MEAL officer will support A360/SFH M&E activities in assigned state working to implement a robust M&E support to LGA and state actors. Expected outputs include production of accurate timely data analysis to inform strategic direction updating project data base real-time and support HCD adaptation assessments documentation dissemination locally.
Required Education:
7 years programming experience including capacity support for M&E/Data teams preferably in the areas of sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Practical experience of using management information systems such as DHIS2 electronic data collection or any other understanding of ASRH and DHS data need and written and verbal English and inter-personal communication skills in multicultural settings.
