Senior Assistant Registrar/Assistant Registrar in the Presidents Office (Ref.: 534555)
We are seeking a high-calibre professional with exceptional skills and potential to join the Presidents Office as Senior Assistant Registrar/Assistant Registrar (SAR/AR). The appointee will report directly to the Executive Vice-President (Administration and Finance) (EVP).
The Role
The appointee will be instrumental in supporting the EVPs broad portfolio which encompasses strategic leadership and oversight of fiscal affairs budget and finance management facilities management healthcare and safety management information technology services and governance of development projects. Key responsibilities include:
Contributing to the advancement of the Universitys vision and mission by supporting the EVPs strategic initiatives and ensuring effective governance and operational excellence.
Playing a key role in policy review research and formulation and making sound recommendations.
Working closely with offices under the EVPs portfolio and other administrative units in various matters such as the setting of strategic directions policies resource and budget planning.
Acting as an administrative lead and providing oversight on all aspects of administration and finance governance under the EVPs portfolio.
Building connections and partnerships with various external and internal stakeholders.
Championing change management initiatives and driving continuous improvement.
Supporting the EVP in senior leadership and committee meetings as well as new and ongoing initiatives.
Drafting high-quality proposals and management reports.
Performing any other duties as assigned by the EVP.
Qualifications and Qualities
A good bachelors degree preferably with a higher degree.
At least 10 years of relevant administrative and management experience in sizable organizations ideally with solid experience in tertiary education and/or public/quasi-public organizations.
Proven track record of leadership.
Outstanding conceptual analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) with the ability to present ideas convincingly.
Demonstrated ability to plan and implement projects towards the accomplishment of University objectives.
Ability to make sound judgement and recommendations.
Effective coordination and liaison skills with well-honed interpersonal and influencing abilities.
Drive for results through collaboration with different stakeholders at the University.
Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Registrar.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for two years to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
