Job Opportunity: Senior Patent Executive
Responsibilities
- Managing the prosecution of patent applications including drafting submissions and arguments in response to patent office actions.
- Conducting comprehensive searches and analyses of patent documents to assess the patentability of inventions in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
- Drafting detailed and precise patent descriptions related to Mechanical Engineering.
- Providing consultancy services to clients on patent rights in Malaysia including patents simple patents trade secrets patentability opinions freedom-to-operate (FTO) analysis and other related advisory matters.
- Performing patent infringement analysis and offering preliminary infringement advice prior to escalation to Litigation Counsels in case of disputes.
- Contributing to the promotion of IP awareness by writing articles and delivering presentations at seminars and webinars.
Qualifications
To excel in this role you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering with above-average academic results from a reputable university.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Intellectual Property field with expertise in patent searches drafting specifications and filing patent applications.
- Excellent command of English; proficiency in Chinese is an added advantage.
- Strong conceptual analytical and reasoning skills.
- Clear and articulate communication abilities.
- High attention to detail strong work ethics and excellent interpersonal skills.
