Full Time/Part Time: Full TimeAssistant Researcher Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as physician investigator/academic clinician with an active medical oncology-based clinical practice (20%effort)
- Be engaged in clinical and translational research activities including enrollment to National and Industry clinical trials development of investigator-initiated trialsdevelopment of translational research studies in collaboration with UH Cancer Center researchers;
- Coordinate clinical care and clinical research activities in a disease-specific area of oncology in collaboration with medical systems that participate in the Hawaii Cancer Consortium and community oncologists practicing within the UH Cancer Centernetwork;
- Pursue collaborative research opportunitiesinareas where research at UH is especially advantaged and be competitive for national peer-reviewed funding.Examples of such clinical and translational research opportunities are genitourinary cancer gastrointestinal cancer and hepatobiliarycancer.
Minimum Qualifications
- M.D.degree or other generally recognized equivalent medical degree from a medical school of recognized standing;
- Able to get licensureinHawaii;
- Board certification or qualificationinthe clinical disciplineinvolved inthe specificposition;
- Demonstrated ability in teaching and patient care when appropriate;
- Demonstrated ability togenerateindependentresearchreportspublicationsandclinicaltrials;
- Ability to interact effectively with students and/or assistants when appropriate.
Desirable Qualifications
- A strong research track record with development ofinvestigator initiated clinicaltrials
- Focus on Lung cancer GI cancers Liver cancer Head & Neck cancer or GUcancers
