Job Description

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Pediatrics seeks a Pediatrician to join six pediatricians in 3 thriving practice sites in the Greater Charleston area. This position is expected to roughly divide time at the Summey Medical Pavilion Primary Care practice the new MUSC Childrens Health Daniel Island practice and the Maybank Highway Johns Island practice. The provider will be a full member of the Division of General Pediatrics sharing newborn and circumcision weekend and holiday coverage at the Shawn Jenkins Childrens Hospital. There are ample opportunities for teaching and if desired spending a week in the in the newborn weekly rounding schedule if desired.

Ideal Candidates:

Medical Doctor or equivalent
Board Certified or Eligible by the ABP
Commitment to MUSCs educational missions
Eligible for licensure in South Carolina
Strong interest in working with both typical as well as medically complex children
Comfort with seeing Level I newborns performing newborn circumcisions and seeing outpatient health maintenance and sick visits

Full complement of medical staff
Opportunities to work with medical students and residents in newborn nursery and elective trainees at SMP site
