Job Description:

DevOps Engineer

• Design build and maintain scalable platforms: Develop and manage highly available scalable and secure platform solutions to meet evolving business needs.
• Manage VMware environments: Design deploy and optimize virtualized infrastructure using VMware ensuring efficient resource utilization and high availability.
• Automate infrastructure: Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform Ansible or similar to automate the deployment and management of cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor and optimize performance: Implement monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in real-time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with software engineers DevOps and product teams to deliver cohesive and scalable solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement: Lead initiatives around platform efficiency security cost management and scalability.
• Implement security best practices: Ensure platform security by implementing best practices for access control encryption and compliance with industry standards.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers: Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior platform engineers fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Stay current with emerging technologies: Continuously evaluate new tools frameworks and methodologies that can enhance platform reliability and performance.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 6 years of experience in platform engineering DevOps or infrastructure roles.
• Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure including infrastructure automation.
• IaC Expertise: Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Containers & Orchestration: Working knowledge with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Monitoring & Logging: Strong experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus Grafana New Relic or similar.
• Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python Bash or Powershell for automating infrastructure tasks.
• Version Control & CI/CD: Familiarity with Git CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins CircleCI GitLab CI) and best practices for continuous delivery.

Security Mindset: Understanding of security best practices for cloud infrastructure including IAM encryption and auditing.

Preferred Skills:

• Networking: Strong understanding of networking principles (DNS VPN firewalls etc.).
• Database Management: Experience with managing databases such as PostgreSQL MySQL or MSSQL databases.
• Leadership Experience: Prior experience in leading engineering teams or projects.
