TITLE: BHS Stipend Opportunity: Bilingual Mental Health Event Presenter
REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services Department or their designee
STIPEND POSITION OVERVIEW: The Behavioral Health Services Department (BHS) seeks to develop a current BHS School Psychologist to create to coordinate the annual Mental Health event within the department within the district and at schools.
This opportunity will occur primarily from February 1 2026 to May 1 2026 as needed up to 20 hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Following grant expectations this position will be responsible for:
- Scheduling: scheduling the event and sharing the MH awareness event logistics with BHS to put in the family newsletter.
- Data: Maintain and report attendance share data and presentation information about the event to the Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services and/or Mental Health Awareness Coordinator
- Communications: develop communications about MH awareness events and communicate with BPS families to promote events in collaboration with BHS.
- Community Outreach: Dissemination of event information to members of the language specific communities members
- Implementation: Review the MH PPT and the translation for accuracy
- Feedback: Ensure that all participants complete a feedback survey.
The stipend will be paid at the hourly rate of $56.81 and once the responsibilities are completed.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:
- Currently working in Boston Public Schools;
- Appropriate school psychologist licensure.
- BPS values linguistic diversity and believes that candidates who speak another language bring added value to the classroom school and district culture and diversity. We are particularly interested in candidates who are fluent in one of BPS official languages: Spanish Creole (Cape Verdean) Arabic Creole (Haitian) Chinese Vietnamese Portuguese & Somali.
