The Senior Coordinator of State Mandated Assessment Programs is responsible for the coordination oversight and implementation of federal state and other mandated assessment programs. This role manages test administration processes ensures compliance with all applicable procedures and policies communicates with stakeholders and safeguards the integrity of assessment outcomes. The position also supports data analysis reporting and school-level interpretation of assessment results.

Supervision

Work is performed under the supervision of the Senior Director of Assessment Research and Accountability. Performance is evaluated based on efficiency effectiveness regulatory compliance and the ability to protect outcomes related to graduation accountability and accreditation.

Provides direct oversight of the Assessment Coordinator and Teacher Specialist.

Essential Functions

  • Plan implement and monitor state-mandated assessment programs in accordance with federal state and division regulations.

  • Coordinate administration of growth assessments standards-based tests alternate assessments English learner assessments and national assessment programs.

  • Collaborate with departments to ensure compliance for students with disabilities (IEP or 504 plans) and English learners.

  • Partner with school counselors to ensure students have access to required testing opportunities for graduation.

  • Ensure compliance with test security requirements while promoting equitable testing conditions.

  • Design deliver and update professional training guidance materials and resources for schools before during and after testing cycles.

  • Provide additional support and training for new school test coordinators.

  • Serve as liaison between the division and state education authorities regarding required testing information.

  • Oversee the collection organization and maintenance of historical assessment data.

  • Assist in analyzing and reporting assessment results at division and school levels.

  • Address testing irregularities security breaches or emergencies during testing windows.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of state assessment systems guidelines and student participation requirements across all student groups.

  • Strong understanding of how assessment outcomes affect instruction school improvement graduation and accountability measures.

  • Ability to interpret organize and present complex data to support decision-making.

  • Strong interpersonal organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and coordinate efforts across diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with technology tools such as Microsoft Excel Power BI and AI platforms for data analysis and reporting.

  • Familiarity with student privacy laws related to assessment data.

Minimum Education Training and Experience

  • Masters degree in Education (K-12 supervision preferred).

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a teacher administrator and/or school test coordinator in a public school system.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and collaboration on school improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with student information systems and educational data visualization platforms.

License/Certification

  • Postgraduate Professional License with endorsement in Administration and Supervision (K-12) preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to schools and meetings.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.

  • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

  • Extended hours may be required during testing windows and deadlines.

Work Environment and Conditions

  • Subject to stress strict deadlines frequent interruptions and possible evening or weekend meetings and events.
