We are seeking a motivated and servicefocused IT Technician to join the Technology team at Fairmont St this role you will support the smooth and reliable operation of all hotel IT systems providing both proactive maintenance and responsive technical assistance to colleagues across the property.
Key Responsibilities
Hotel Technology Support
- Assist with the onboarding and setup of new colleagues.
- Install configure and maintain IT systems in line with established standards and under the guidance of the IT Manager.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues ensuring clear communication with users throughout.
- Carry out routine checks on hardware software and system performance.
- Support periodic audits of IT equipment and assets.
- Assist with the configuration and maintenance of the IP phone system (queues ring orders etc.).
- Perform proactive maintenance of printers and manage consumables.
AudioVisual (AV) Support
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all hotel AV equipment.
- Conduct regular testing and preventative maintenance of AV systems.
- Set up operate and support AV equipment for meetings and events.
- Work closely with the Events Operations team and external partners to ensure seamless AV delivery.
Qualifications :
Essential Requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office products.
- Ability to troubleshoot ie. investigate and resolve issues.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in Microsoft Windows server operating systems.
- Experience in IT Support - both software and hardware.
- Understanding of networking principles.
- Experience with AV equipment.
The ideal candidate will have or be working towards gaining IT based qualifications with a keen interest in IT (and technology generally).
- Personable good communication skills and a willingness to help people.
- Continuous learning and improvement.
- Passion for technology and innovation.
