Job Summary

JOB PURPOSE

  • Carry out annual maintenance modification and repairs on the Stoneblower Fleet
  • To maintain machines against the agreed maintenance plan
  • Support the Stoneblower Heavy Maintenance Manager and Depot Supervisor in achieving desired targets and KPIs.
  • To support and assist the maintenance team with the delivery of annual maintenance activities on the Stoneblower fleet.

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Machine available for work / for optimum usage in a timely manner
  • Servicing completed within required timeframe
  • Performance of machine following annual maintenance
  • Condition of machine
  • Timely ordering of parts / equipment
  • To organise and follow 5S within designated areas of the depot
  • Complete administration tasks in a timely manner
  • Submission of completed maintenance documentation to a high standard in a timely manner
  • Supporting maintenance team in the upkeeping of quality of maintenance documentation

 


Qualifications :

Qualifications & Experience

  • Is likely to be time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline or Preferred recognised qualification as a mechanical / electrical / maintenance engineer
  • Experience within the Railway Industry

Technical Skills

Knowledge & understanding of electrical mechanical hydraulic pneumatic systems electronic fault finding & repair

  • IT literate including basic knowledge of Microsoft systems
  • Calibration & understanding of rail plant operating
  • Competent in current maintenance standards
  • Problem Solving and identifying solutions

Additional Information :

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Work closely with the other band 1 technicians in ensuring smooth delivery of annual maintenance activities
  • Report any defects found on machine & carry out repairs within required competency level for the role
  • Ensure planned maintenance duties are completed in line with company policies & procedures & work instructions
  • Ensure working environment is maintained as required by 5S
  • Inform supervisor of any shift critical or maintenance scheduling issues / problems in a timely manner which are outside your remit of control
  • Operate and lead machine shunts for maintenance purposes as required
  • Ensure regularly updated & compliant with company policies & procedures
  • Awareness of company communication via notice boards
  • Be responsible for the care of company assets
  • Committed to travel and lodge as required by the company.
  • To undertake training as required
  • Ensure compliance with competence assessment systems
  • Comply with the Company Code of Conduct

  • Only undertake work for which you have been trained and (if required) certified competent
  • Work closely with the Depot Management Team to raise safety issues and support safety initiatives.
  • To comply with Risk Assessments method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Maintain and utilise all PPE provided by the employer
  • Co-operate with your employer on health safety and environment
  • Make safe any unsafe conditions where practical and challenge unsafe work practices
  • Comply with company standards and procedures relevant to the undertaking of Stoneblower Maintenance
  • Observe safety objectives issued
  • Report all and assist with investigating relevant accidents incidents and near misses
  • Maintain and utilise all PPE provided by the employer.
