Highway Design Civil Engineering Intern

AECOM is seeking a Highway Design Civil Engineering Intern to be based in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania.

This position is expected to begin in June 2026.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

• Internships are designed to introduce and build essential hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. 
• Assist in the design of roadway geometry traffic control as well as signing and pavement markings.
• Provide utility coordination support.
• Assist in Computer Aided Design production
• Assist in quantities and cost estimates

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Must have 2 years of completed study.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Capable of using spreadsheet word processing and standard Microsoft Office software.
• MicroStation and/or Autodesk familiarity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate effective time management task prioritization and strong interpersonal skills.
