Job Summary

Reporting to the Managing Director the Business Development Managers  primary  objective is to drive pet insurance sales through collaboration with veterinary clinics.   

Fundamental to success in the role is the ability to build robust relationships and  demonstrate the benefits of insured pets for the veterinary clinic its technical and support staff as well as clients and their pets; and in so doing gain firm commitment to use Trupanions sales tools to consistently introduce uninsured owners to the business.  

Developing a thorough understand of business operations  the Business Development Manager is also expected to ensure clinics are conversant with Trupanions web and  integrated system solutions that support lead generation claims submission and medical record collection troubleshooting internally and externally as necessary and are the key point of contact for queries and service issues from veterinary partners.   

Location:  

  • We are hiring candidates across Germany based in (but not limited to)  Berlin München Dresden Düsseldorf Frankfurt (Main) Hamburg Hannover Köln Leipzig Mannheim Nürnberg and Stuttgart with a willingness to travel across their region as the demands of the job dictate.  

Key Objectives:   

  • To identify recruit and develop veterinary clinics to deliver agreed sales goals   
  • Once active to manage veterinary clinics to maintain consistent sales performance  
  • To support veterinary clinics to ensure the efficient processing and payment of claims.   

Responsibilities:  

  • Efficiently plan call cycles structured with booked appointments well-prepared agendas and presentations and clear objective clinic goals and deliverables  
  • Participate in team meetings reporting objectively on clinic and territory performance and providing balanced sector and market intelligence to help shape Trupanions strategic and tactical decisions   
  • Identify and develop at least one main contact in each veterinary clinic responsible for pet insurance activities   
  • Ensure call activity is reported accurately and timely in Trupanions veterinary CRM platform  
  • Support cross-departmental projects between marketing sales and business operations.  
  • Maintain contacts and build relationships with the broader veterinary and pet industries  
  • Participation in veterinary congresses trade fairs and other external events as necessary   
  • Support business operations processing claims addressing queries from clinics and helping to manage complaints.   

 Personal Attributes & Experience:  

  • Extensive experience selling into veterinary clinics in the DACH area  
  • Track record in territory and account management   
  • Must hold a valid German drivers license (Führerschein) or an EUrecognized equivalent 
  • Target orientated and the ability to demonstrate success in a previous fast-moving high-energy sales environment   
  • Excellent communicator and presenter able to deliver coherent structured propositions to influence and secure commitment from target audiences   
  • Self-motivated and analytical able to determine priorities deliver to deadlines and adapt to changing business requirements  
  • Reliable numerate and enthusiastic with the drive to succeed   
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams   
  • Flexibility adaptability and creativity to overcome challenges and roadblocks  
  • Home based with the ability to travel as the demands of the job dictate.
