Our client is a food manufacturing company. The business focuses on production output through the construction and maintenance of machinery.
The Role: Senior Millwright (Food industry)
The purpose of this role is to ensure the construction and maintenance of machinery to achieve optimum production output. This position contributes to the business by driving a maintenance team toward excellence and maximizing plant uptime. The main focus areas include diagnosing faults replacing defective parts and leading machinery installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance team activities to ensure minimal plant downtime.
- Diagnose and rectify all electrical instrument and mechanical faults using engineering practices.
- Lead the installation and dismantling of machinery according to layout drawings and blueprints.
- Replace defective parts adjust clearances and align machinery using hoists jacks and hand tools.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines and maintain awareness of safety risks at all times.
About You
- Trade Test Certificate: Millwright (Red Seal) is required.
- Proficiency in industrial hand/power tools and the ability to understand blueprints.
- Strong leadership planning and coordination skills.
- Must be comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders or platforms.
- Must have own reliable transport.
- Flexibility to work fluctuating hours including standby weekends and public holidays.
- A Wiremans license ammonia handling training and experience with PLC (S5) AC/DC drives or HMI are advantageous.
