Personal Advisor

We are working closely alongside with a local authority in West Sussex to assist with the appointment of a Personal Advisor on a 1-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 18.34 - 24.03 per hour

Summary:

As a Personal Advisor within the Leaving Care Service you will play a pivotal role in the Corporate Parenting journey for young people aged 16 to 25. Your mission is to guide advise and empower care leavers as they transition from the care of the Local Authority toward an independent and aspirational will join a dedicated team during an exciting period of service improvement focusing on delivering high-quality support to over 600 young people. This role is about more than just administration; it is about being an ambitious advocate for young people who may have experienced trauma helping them navigate the complexities of adulthood stable housing and education.

Responsibilities:

• Assist young people in developing essential life skills including healthy living managing a home and pursuing educational or career goals.
• Lead on safety planning and risk management to ensure young people are supported safely particularly those with complex needs.
• Work closely with the Children We Care For service to ensure a seamless transition for young people moving out of care.
• Act as a consistent reliable point of contact ensuring the young persons voice is heard in all planning and decision-making processes.

Essentials:

• Significant experience working directly with children and young people specifically as a Personal Advisor or within Childrens Social Care.
• Experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma or have complex needs (e.g. mental health substance misuse or offending behaviors).
• Understanding of the statutory duties owed to care leavers up to the age of 25.
• A full UK driving licence is required as travel for face-to-face visits is a core part of the role.
