Data Operations Analyst / Business Analyst Connecticut / New York USA
Introduction
A leading multi-strategy investment firm is seeking a Data Operations Analyst / Business Analyst to join its team. This role is integral to the firms data management framework ensuring that high-quality data flows seamlessly across trading risk and portfolio management systems. You will act as a bridge between technical data teams and business stakeholders to drive operational excellence in a high-stakes investment environment.
Responsibilities
- Data Lifecycle Management: Oversee the ingestion validation and maintenance of market and reference data across internal platforms.
- Business Analysis: Interface with Portfolio Managers and Traders to gather requirements for new data sets and reporting tools.
- Data Quality Control: Monitor daily data feeds for anomalies investigating and resolving breaks to ensure accuracy in P&L and risk reporting.
- Process Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline manual data workflows and work with developers to implement automated solutions.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external data providers (e.g. Bloomberg Reuters) to manage feeds and resolve delivery issues.
- Project Support: Lead or support cross-functional projects related to system migrations data warehousing and regulatory reporting enhancements.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of data models business rules and operational procedures.
Requirements
- 26 years of experience in Data Operations Business Analysis or a similar role within the financial services industry (Hedge Fund or Asset Management experience preferred).
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Solid understanding of financial instruments (Equities Fixed Income Derivatives).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau Power BI) or Portfolio Management Systems (e.g. Enfusion Geneva) is a plus.
- Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Computer Science or a related field.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical business users.
