Were currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SIL House Leader to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our participants fostering emotional growth confidence and independence in a safe nurturing environment.
About the Role
As a SIL House Leader you will provide Supported Independent Living services that empower individuals with disabilities to thrive in their daily lives. This includes assistance with personal care meal preparation and helping participants build meaningful routines structure and healthy habits. Youll play a key role in fostering emotional and psychological growth boosting confidence self-esteem and communication skills while ensuring participants feel supported both at home and in their communities.
Key Accountabilities
- Support participants with daily living tasks
- Assist with personal care and hygiene
- Prepare nutritious meals
- Help build and maintain routines
- Encourage community participation
- Support the development of independent living skills
Roster Details
- 1 week on (Sunday to Sunday): Provide SIL support during the day and stay overnight for sleepover shifts in the SIL house for 7 consecutive nights.
- 1 week off: Rest and recharge.
Required Certifications
- NDIS Screening/Yellow Card
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Drivers licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
Desirable (but not mandatory)
- Cert IV in Mental Health or equivalent
- Maybo Training Positive Behaviour Support or similar
Key Attributes
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to coordinate daily routines and household tasks effectively
- Proactive and solutions-focused with the ability to anticipate needs (e.g. groceries supplies)
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
- Comfortable using technology and basic software applications
- Empathetic patient and committed to participant wellbeing
