Your role your impact

This role sits at the heart of Each. As Payroll Team Leader youll lead the payroll function that supports over 1400 employees and volunteers ensuring accuracy compliance and confidence for our people every pay cycle.

Youll combine hands-on payroll leadership with continuous improvement and strong partnership across the organisation helping leaders managers and employees feel supported informed and heard.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and own the end-to-end payroll function (with 4 payroll officers) ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery
  • Oversee and coordinate fortnightly payroll processing approvals and final termination payments
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise agreements legislation PAYG superannuation and leave obligations
  • Build trusted relationships with leaders and teams as the key point of contact for payroll
  • Drive continuous improvement through payroll audits reporting and system enhancements
  • Partner with systems and data teams on upgrades award interpretation and payroll system changes
  • Analyse payroll data and trends to identify risks opportunities and smarter ways of working
  • Lead coach and develop the payroll team fostering a supportive and collaborative culture
  • Provide guidance and training to HR and the broader business on payroll processes and systems

Who were looking for

Youll thrive in this role if you bring:

  • Experience leading or supervising a payroll function in a complex organisation
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise agreements modern awards and the National Employment Standards
  • Confidence working hands-on in payroll processing while leading a small team
  • Strong attention to detail and a thoughtful problem-solving mindset
  • The ability to communicate clearly and build trust with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A collaborative inclusive approach to leadership and teamwork
  • An appreciation of or experience in the not-for-profit or community services sector

What will make you stand out

Nice-to-have experience or qualifications include:

  • Payroll or accounting qualifications
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. AHRI)
  • Experience working in large or multi-site organisations with multiple complex awards
