Under direct supervision performs routine unskilled manual labor to assist in a temporary capacity (less than 780 hours per fiscal year) at workshops conferences camps and other special events. Training the incoming Building Manager. The Building Manager will handle key operational duties such as budgeting personnel management and long-term planning for the overall operation of these facilities. The individual will lead efforts to improve the facilities and services for occupants and work closely with the Vice President for Research to realize the vision of providing outstanding core facility services. The Building Manager will supervise and manage the greenhouse technician(s) and student workers while staying current on relevant regulations and laws. Additionally the Building Manager will collaborate closely with Facilities Planning and Management to ensure continuous facility operations reduce downtime and carefully plan and communicate any long-term outages with both FPM and the building.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Assists with moving loading and unloading materials supplies equipment and furniture.
Assists in the clean up after events by collecting trash cleaning tables sweeping mopping and removing snow from entranceways.
Runs errands both on the campus and away from the campus.
Assists with the cleaning of the buildings as needed.
Assists with the minor maintenance of grounds equipment and simple power equipment.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to lift and move furniture and equipment.
Ability to learn to perform a variety of unskilled tasks.
