Job Description
Buyer (46 Month Temporary Assignment)
What youll do
- Purchase materials equipment supplies and services in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures
- Manage procurement activities across a diverse portfolio including services maintenance repairs chemicals electronics machined parts semiconductors and hardware built to government and company specifications
- Negotiate pricing delivery and commercial terms with suppliers
- Track and report on open purchase orders late orders delivery schedules and supplier ontime performance
- Follow up with suppliers to resolve delivery quality or documentation issues
- Interface professionally with internal customers and external vendors
- Support continuous improvement of procurement and compliancerelated policies forms and training materials
- Perform all work with a strong focus on ethics compliance and safe work practices
What you need
- Procurement and negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities required
- Experience working in a highvolume deadlinedriven environment with minimal supervision required
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Buyer role required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Procurement or supply chain professional development courses preferred
