Mount Royal University Cougars Athletics and Recreation takes an inclusive student-centered approach in offering groups and individuals opportunities to bolster their health and wellness through a wide range of programming and activities ranging from beginner sports enthusiast to our eight Cougars varsity athletic programs.
Term: Late August - Early April (Fall & Winter Terms) OR April - Late August (Spring & Summer Terms)
Availability: Mostly daytime shifts during the week with infrequent evenings shifts during the week

Location: At MRU Recreation (the odd shift may be off campus)
Program Administration & Facilitation (60%)
Support the Recreation Sport Supervisor and Club Executives with the programming administration and evaluation of all Club programs
Support the preparation administration and facilitation of the CAR Club Annual Awards Ceremony including the nomination process
Ensure accurate and timely reporting is completed regarding Club Activities in collaboration with the Club Executives
Review and follow up on requests and document submission from the Club Executives
Administrate payments for Club Fundraisers
Assist on larger programming projects and requests in collaboration with the Recreation Sport Supervisor
Support the RSS with the annual Club Evaluations
Club Executive Supervision and Mentorship (25%)
Lead the Club Executive Monthly Meetings and in house trainings
Support Club Executives with Adherence to the CAR Club Manual
Communicate effectively with Club Executives
General and as needed duties (15%)
Communicate effectively with Club Executives partners and Recreational Sport Supervisor
Act as Cougars Athletics and Recreation ambassadors by promoting club activities and programs on campus through promotional activities as requested by the Recreational Sports Supervisor (classroom info sessions Main Street drop-in sports clubs etc.)
Required Skills/Certifications
Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED (or the ability to obtain certification by first scheduled shift)

Willingness to lead train and mentor Club Executives
Willingness to be creative and provide feedback and ideas in a collaborative manner
Excellent communication organizational interpersonal skills

Experience and/or education with activity or sport programming
Preferred Skills
Ability to think critically and program to the needs of our community
An understanding of sport and physical activity best practices
An understanding or experience with Risk Management adherence
An ability to utilize Google suite and ActiveNet is considered an asset
Experience with PCI training and compliance
Current MRU students are preferred with University Students in general being our next preferred candidates
