POSITION SUMMARY:

Do you believe every child has extraordinary potential Do you want to help transform children into confident curious scholars while supporting and empowering the teachers who guide them Join Find My Genius (FMG) this summer as a Seasonal Instructional Coach!

In this role you will lead curriculum development train and support teachers assess scholars abilities and ensure each child is placed in clusters that maximize their learning. If youre passionate about creating engaging learning experiences mentoring educators and making a tangible difference in childrens lives FMG is the place for you.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Scholar Assessment & Placement:

  • Administer STAR assessments at the start and end of the program.
  • Analyze results and place scholars into clusters that align with their academic levels.
  • Adjust clusters as needed throughout the program.

Curriculum Development & Instructional Support:

  • Collaborate with Program Directors to design and implement summer academic curriculum.
  • Train teachers and instructional assistants on curriculum and instructional strategies before and during the program.
  • Support classroom instruction by modeling lessons providing differentiated resources and assisting with classroom management.

Teacher Coaching & Development:

  • Review and provide feedback on lesson plans.
  • Lead weekly staff meetings to review curriculum share best practices and address instructional challenges.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for classroom technology.

Program Preparation & Oversight:

  • Inventory and organize academic materials prior to program start.
  • Step into classrooms as needed to maintain high-quality instruction.
  • Coordinate schedules with teachers to ensure smooth implementation of lessons.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Current state teaching certification.
  • 35 years of experience in K8 instructional leadership or coaching ideally in urban public school settings.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering professional development for instructional staff.
  • Comfortable using technology for assessment instruction and teacher support.
  • Strong commitment to FMG and YMCA mission and values.
  • Criminal background clearance required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to plan lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
  • This position may require the ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time wade inwater in order to supervise children able to walk continuously at least ½ mile spend a fullworkday outdoors in any weather condition.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

The successful Instructional Coach will ensure that FMG scholars receive high-quality differentiated instruction and that teachers feel empowered supported and confident to deliver the program with excellence.
