The Production Manager Utilities has overall responsibility for the Water Treatment Plant Effluent Treatment Plant and Landfill. Additional key responsibilities include managing department safety cost effectiveness of operations & maintenance improving equipment reliability improving processes and managing team efforts among the Utilities Department and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and reliable operation and maintenance of all equipment and processes in area of responsibility.
• Maintain 100% environmental compliance by ensuring:
  • All operators are properly trained.
  • All equipment is properly maintained.
  • All tests are being done correctly.
  • Chemicals are ordered on time.
• Manage an operating budget to achieve identified goals and objectives.
• Oversight of capital projects for Water Treatment Plant Effluent Treatment Plant and Landfill.
• Ensure operations in area of responsibility are aligned with all other operating areas.
• Optimize operations identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve overall efficiency of operations.
• Ensure department personnel complete required drills for managing upset conditions or emergency situations.

Requirements

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Environmental Mechanical Electrical or Chemical) or a commensurate amount of practical experience
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a utilities (ETP/WTP/Landfill experience preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Solid understanding of preventive maintenance methodology
• Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule
• Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma training preferred
• Possess or have the capability to acquire WDNR Solid Waste Facility Manager license and WDNR Wastewater Operator license
