Junior Cost Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented Junior Cost Engineer to support cost control activities and contribute to the successful delivery of nuclear decommissioning projects. The ideal candidate will bring a foundational understanding of project controls an interest in developing their skills within a complex project environment and a willingness to learn about NEC contracts cost management and reporting processes.

Your role

• Assist with data collation and the preparation of monthly Applications for Payment including calculating monthly actual costs and supporting variance analysis against forecast values.
• Support the production and maintenance of the Forecast to Completion assisting with monitoring performance against the approved project budget.
• Assist with cost reporting to the business including the preparation of Monthly Dashboard reports under guidance from the Cost Engineer.
• Support the production of monthly business cost reports and assist with submissions via the Cost Management system.
• Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices in line with project and commercial requirements.
• Support the development of cost estimates for new and ongoing projects including assistance with Change Control documentation and cost impact assessments.

• Good IT skills including being proficient in Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to interpret financial or technical data.
