Based in our London office and reporting to the Head of Casualty Claims Hamilton Global Specialty you will work with the Casualty claims team primarily supporting the more senior member of the team with particular focus on professional lines (including medmal) financial lines and excess casualty. The role will include working on the casualty binders and will have the opportunity to gain exposure to other lines of business dealt with by this division including Political Risk Environmental Cyber and M&A.

Hamilton Global Specialty is our multi-platform specialty insurer operating primarily through a Lloyds Syndicate and Dublin operating company with a managing general agency in the US.

What you will do

• Adjust allocated claims within the Claims Authority in accordance with Hamiltons Claims Philosophy and Claims Protocols and Lloyds Lead Claims Arrangements
• Assist and work closely with senior members of the Casualty Claims team as required
• Collaborate with the underwriting teams whose claims you handle
• Work with other internal stakeholders - including finance reinsurance and actuarial
• Liaise with follow and co-lead markets
• Attend external client and broker meetings as required
• Assist with operational tasks as required particularly in relation to bordereaux management
• Instruct and manage lawyers and experts as required to assist in the determination of coverage or assessment of quantum as it may arise

What you require for the role

• London market experience or knowledge of the London insurance market in underwriting / claims / broking is preferable
• Strong MS Office skills particularly Excel
• Highly analytical and numerate with excellent attention to detail
• A willingness to work in a responsive collaborative and efficient manner
• Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
