What to expect:

The Manager Marketing Communications CWB Foundation has primary responsibilities for the strategy development execution and oversight of all aspects of marketing communications sponsorship and events for programs grants and overall visibility of the CWB Foundation. This includes development and planning for program execution reporting storytelling and special events held to promote the value and impact of the Foundations investments and programs with all stakeholders including CWB colleagues educators government corporate and industry donors sponsors and program partners and participants. This role includes the development of comprehensive work plans for all Foundation communications and be responsible for publications and written materials used across media platforms with internal and external partners incorporating and evaluating qualitative and quantitative metrics of success. The individual in this position reports to the Foundations Executive Director and works directly with the Program Team Development Team and other members of the Marketing and Communications team collaborating with program sponsors and co-investors stakeholders and CWB Group business units including the CWB Association and Centre of Innovation. The Manager Marketing Communications is responsible for the development and financial reporting and management of the marketing and communications budget.

This includes:

Marketing and Communications Development and Leadership

  • Ensures marketing plans campaigns and events are aligned with the broader strategic goals of the Foundation particularly around brand visibility and advocacy partner development and community engagement.
  • Translates the Foundations strategic priorities into actionable marketing initiatives and development campaigns supporting both program promotion and positioning of the Foundation with external partners.
  • Acts as the key liaison between marketing efforts and the Program and Development teams aligning event planning communications and promotional activities.
  • Support and lead the development of thought leadership content and storytelling from impact data including cases for support program briefs and reports in alignment with the Foundations strategic goals.
  • Financial oversight over Marketing and Communications budget and contributing advisor to planning and execution in alignment with budget.

Partner Relationship Management

  • Develop and support the execution of communications strategies that support partner development including email marketing social media development campaigns and program promotion.
  • Support reporting and strategic communications efforts for internal partners including CEO communications support board reporting and other areas of CWB Group that align with the Foundations mandate.
  • Develop and champion the sponsorship and events strategy driving the Foundations goals through strategic partnerships.
  • Arrange interviews and news conferences when necessary and be the main point of contact for media relations.
  • Work to steward current and potential donors/partners according to agreements including media events and other recognition activities and prepare supporting communications as required

Government and Media Relations

  • Support media crisis and issues communications for internal and external distribution.
  • Develop media materials speaking notes and key messages to support exposure opportunities.
  • Collaborate with CWB Groups Government Relations and corporate communications strategies that relate to and can leverage and support Foundation programs and initiatives.
  • Build and maintain government relations and media contacts relevant to Foundation programs and thought leadership/advocacy initiatives.

Managing and Developing Employees

  • Conduct performance management evaluation of employees and develop ongoing improvement plans.
  • Ensure individual employee competency (interest and ability) in the delivery of multiple products and services through the development and implementation of individual development plans.
  • Monitor individual and team progress towards goals objectives and business plans and communicates ongoing progress checks for variances and takes corrective actions as necessary.
  • Recognize employees for the achievement of action plans development plans and the execution of their roles responsibilities.

Other duties as assigned:

This position will report to the Foundation Executive Director and work directly with the Programs Team and other members of the Marketing and Communications team collaborating with program sponsors and co-investors stakeholders and CWB Group Marketing and Communications partners and other CWB business units. CWB is adopting a remote-first working model where employees will work from their home office servicing the client within their specified areas either remotely or in person. We are embracing radical flexibility where employees are encouraged to work a schedule that works best for them their team and their clients.

What you bring to the table:

  • A combination of post-secondary Marketing education and experience
  • 4-7 years experience in a relevant role
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to design and implement strategic campaigns for unique audiences including email communications report content and design and social media
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office especially Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of industry and government landscape
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy of work
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently and work within scheduled timeframes landscape

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a remote work from home position
  • Travel might be required from time to time

The following qualifications are considered assets:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications Journalism Media Relations or related field
  • Communications or public relations experience in a not-for-profit setting is preferred
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
  • Proficiency with Wordpress is an asset
  • Proficiency using Adobe CC suite products especially InDesign and Illustrator is an asset
