We are seeking an experienced Executive Pastry Chef to lead our pastry team and manage our busy this role you will design and execute our pastry program while overseeing day-to-day business including production quality control staffing and the VIP amenity program. This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for a culinary professional eager to shape a brand from the ground up.
Pastry and Culinary leadership
Designing signature and seasonal menus including viennoiserie entremets plated desserts savoury bakes and chocolate and sugar showpieces
Overseeing all pastry production ensuring flawless taste texture and presentation
Developing and documenting recipes standard operating procedures and quality-control systems
Maintaining best-in-class food-safety and cleanliness standards
Sourcing premium local and seasonal ingredients while cultivating strong supplier relationships
Leading staff training and skills development
Managing scheduling ordering inventory and fostering a positive collaborative kitchen culture
Managing food cost labour cost and P&L targets; driving efficiencies without compromising quality
Collaborating with ownership on marketing initiatives events and seasonal merchandising
Handling guest relations resolving issues promptly and ensuring a memorable guest experience
Qualifications :
3 years of professional pastry experience including at least 3 years in a leadership role (Executive Pastry Chef Pastry Chef or similar)
Completion of secondary school is required
Cooks trade certification or equivalent credentials training and experience are required
Food Handler/Safe Food Certification and familiarity with Ontario health regulations
Strong foundation in classic French techniques (lamination pâte à choux entremets glaces etc.)
Lead-by-example leadership style with a hands-on approach
Comfortable working early mornings and managing high-volume peak periods
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
