DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Project Manager or designate Project Delivery Office IM/IT or HIM the Senior Project Analyst coordinates the implementation of projects within the strategic plan specific project management and reporting duties project fiscal tracking and management workflow and business analysis and communication with small and large work teams of internal staff external consultants and leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
A level of education training and experience equivalent to a Bachelors degree in Business Administration Computer Science Health Informatics Engineering Statistics Health Management or a related discipline plus a minimum of seven (7) years recent related experience in healthcare with a particular focus on healthcare information technology.
Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of workflow analysis and documentation change management processes and project management principles and methodologies.
- Exceptional oral and written communication and business/clinical documentation skills coupled with the ability to write or edit high quality business documents.
- Excellent presentation interviewing facilitating and negotiating skills.
- High degree of proficiency with standard MS Office suite and advanced features of office computer applications such as Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Visio.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proven ability to transfer knowledge and skills to other department staff through work direction and mentorship.
- Demonstrated superior organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to research methodically organize and utilize both analytical skills and conceptual thinking to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with professionalism tact confidentiality and discretion.
