Job SummaryThe Queens Journal is an entirely student-run newspaper at Queens University. The paper was founded in 1873 and has been continually published ever since. The Journal publishes a bi-weekly print edition and regular online content throughout the samples must be e-mailed to at the time of your application submission to supplement your application. Please include your name and the position title in the files CompetenciesCommunicationCultural SensitivityTeamworkCreativityProfessionalismJob DutiesProduce one video per week relevant to stories The Journal is publishingTrain and manage one Assistant Editor to complete assigned tasks efficiently and attentively including a working knowledge and/or experience with videographyManage shoot and edit video requests from section heads and managementWork closely with the Editor(s) in Chief to develop the vision and direction of the sectionAttend all Editorial Board and section-head meetings as well as all trainings provided to staffBe on call to shoot breaking news at all timesAttend and fully participate in all in person and virtual meetingsRespect and adhere to company policies procedures and ethical standardsMaintain timely communication with your direct supervisorComplete all assigned tasks efficiently and attentivelyStrive to foster a warm comfortable and respectful atmosphere for allAlways serve as a representative of the AMS and its mission statementComplete other duties as assignedJob RequirementsPossess strong organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentWork ConditionsInteraction with coworkers management and the Queens community
