The Senior Commercial Manager is critical to achieving QBRs growth strategy over the next 5 years with material earnings growth driven primarily by banking lending and payment partner portfolios. You will be responsible for leading the Business Banking strategy for Qantas Business Rewards. 

This includes: 

  • Portfolio Management & Optimisation: Managing and optimising existing credit card lending owned business and payment solutions propositions
  • New Solution Implementation: Implementing new member solutions across these key areas to drive member engagement and earnings growth for the QBR portfolio
  • Partnership Ownership: Owning key day-to-day partner relationships
  • Product Co-Design: Leading the co-design and execution of own business solutions
  • Strategy & Thought Leadership: Supporting the Head of QBR in developing thought leadership strategy and robust business cases to evolve the portfolio

Youll have: 

  • Significant 15 years experience in the management of large scale and complex partnerships in Aviation Travel Retail or other significant SME spend categories
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Commerce Finance or Economics or equivalent experience. Post graduate qualifications eg MBA in related disciplines well regarded
  •  Superior strategic development financial communications and project management skills. Strategic thinking logical and analytical problem solving. Able to apply simple framing to complex problems
  • Ability and confidence to quickly identify key issues structure a project plan and develop strategic options
  • Thorough understanding of strategic evaluation and financial evaluation techniques
  • Exceptional people management experience with ability to lead motivate coach and develop high performing teams
  • Experience in driving and delivering projects in complex and large corporate environment
  • Exceptionally strong external stakeholder management skills including C-suite executives with passion for sales business development and partnerships management
  • Exceptional commercial acumen will well developed strategic financial customer commercial modelling and relationship management skills
  • Thorough understanding of customer loyalty fundamentals core drivers of loyalty value creation and partnership execution within a loyalty programme context
  • Thorough understanding of partner and customer/member perspectives and ability to leverage data and insight as part of partnership strategy development and performance appraisal
  • Revenue and gross margin management experience in a partnership context and ability to manage financial targets budgets and forecasting
  • Significant business development negotiation and contracting experience with in depth knowledge of all components of deal making partnership development and onboarding
  • Significant experience in developing key internal and external materials including pitching and proposals business casing and strategic plan development
  • Partnership product development experience and ability to liaise with SME stakeholders on key inputs including technology data legal product and ux to develop best in class customer products and experiences
  • Ability to appraise partnership performance understand key partnership value drivers and define success KPIs
