Lead VFX Artist

Were seeking an experienced Lead VFX Artist to join our Brisbane studio and help shape the visual direction of our games. Youll lead a talented team of artists collaborating closely with designers animators and programmers to bring immersive worlds to life. 

As a Lead VXF Artist with us you will:

• Lead and inspire a team of VFX artists providing guidance and mentorship to foster their growth and development. 
• Collaborate with the Art Director and Game Designers to establish and maintain the visual style of the game. 
• Ensure that all VFX align with the overall artistic vision and meet high-quality standards. 
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of VFX into the game engine. 
• Manage the VFX team production schedules and allocate resources effectively to meet project milestones. 
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate our artistic processes. 

Qualifications :

What you need to succeed:

• Experience leading art teams and projects.  
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards achieving project goals.  
• Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines including design art and engineering teams. 
• Proficiency with Unreal Engine and 3D software (preferably Maya).  
• Expertise in creating VFX in Niagara for Unreal Engine. 
• Knowledge of Photoshop and After Effects.
• Capable of conceptualizing and animating a wide range of effects from highly stylized to natural and fantastical (including tools weapons skills environmental elements atmospheric effects creatures vehicles UI and motion graphics).
• Actively participating in the learning process and contributing to the development of in-house tools.
• Strong observation skills and a keen eye for detail.  
• A thorough understanding of VFX pipelines and processes.  
• Prior experience with PC or console platforms is highly advantageous.
