Notre Dame de Sion Schools of Kansas City Position Profile
Position Title: Grade School Office Manager FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Grade School Principal
This position provides secretarial and administrative support to the Administration; communicating information to students parents staff and/or other schools; ensuring compliance with financial legal and administrative requirements; and supporting the broad array of services provided to students parents instructional and support employees.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS - Bachelors degree preferred but not required.
- Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Interact with constituents in a professional atmosphere to build relationships and communicate the mission of the school.
- Strong phone etiquette.
- Computer proficiency - Google Workspace Microsoft 365 Teams
- Strong communication skills with students faculty and parents.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES - Open office each morning
- Welcome visitors
- Receive incoming telephone calls and direct to the appropriate person
- Sort Mail
- Close the office at the end of the day
- Locate missing students
- Call students out of class for counselors principal etc.
- Assist sick student until parent arrives
- Offer ice or band aids for injured students
- Contact Maintenance Staff for any issues that arise where their assistance is required
- Input information and make changes to the school calendar
- Ordering/renewing curriculum resources
- Proof format and schedule the distribution of Sion Connect weekly
- Keep and update daily attendance
- Give students passes to leave early and check students in when they arrive late
- Arrange meals for dual campus meetings held at the grade school or meals not provided by the Alliance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT - Occasionally bend stoop and squat.
- May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
- Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Work primarily in a traditional climate controlled environment.
- Work intermittently in outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
