Job Summary
A well-established and high-achieving secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking an experienced and proactive IT Technician to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time permanent position offering the opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching learning and school operations through effective IT provision.
About the Role
As IT Technician you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and development of the schools IT systems and infrastructure. Working closely with teaching and support staff you will ensure that all technology resources are reliable secure and effectively support digital learning across the school.
This is a varied and hands-on role suited to a dependable professional who enjoys problem-solving and delivering excellent customer service within a busy educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Install configure and maintain hardware software and peripherals
Provide first-line and second-line technical support to staff and students
Monitor and maintain network performance security and backups
Support classroom technology AV equipment and interactive displays
Maintain accurate IT inventory asset registers and documentation
Assist with the administration of user accounts and permissions
Support online learning platforms MIS systems and wider school IT services
Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience as an IT Technician IT Support Technician or in a similar technical support role
Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems (Mac experience desirable)
Understanding of network infrastructure and basic cybersecurity principles
Excellent troubleshooting and organisational skills
Professional approachable and able to communicate technical information clearly
Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
Legal right to work in the UK
Experience within a school or educational setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
