About the job:

Based in Oeiras Portugal you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATOs Digital Endeavour. You will join the Facility Management and Planning branch of Chief Information Office which is responsible for ensuring appropriate adequate and operational facilities are provided in a cost-effective manner across NCIA locations. This includes the effective development integration and management of building and facility processes overseeing technical installations and managing essential support functions.

We are searching for a driven and enthusiastic Senior Assistant (Facility Management and Planning) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Support the effective operations of buildings and facilities ensuring compliance and safety.

  • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

  • Manage vendor-provided services (hard and soft e.g. maintenance catering).

  • Place and track purchase orders and deliverables to ensure project and schedule compliance.

  • Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and oversee repairs and upgrades.

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure system longevity.

  • Execute infrastructure upgrades and space planning initiatives.

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

  • Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 2 years of post-related experience or a secondary educational qualification with 4 years of post-related experience.

  • Hands-on general maintenance experience with building systems including HVAC maintenance fire safety systems security and lighting systems.

  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance processes (scheduled inspections maintenance records).

  • Familiarity with building codes and standards.

  • Fluency in English both written and spoken.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Familiarity with NATO responsibilities and organization.

  • Repair and maintenance of technical installations.

  • Knowledge of building electromechanical systems.

  • Portuguese language skills.
