Minuteman High School is seeking a qualified Athletic Director for the school year. This is a stipend position with responsibilities and compensation detailed below.
Major Responsibilities:- To have knowledge of ALL MIAA rules in the MIAA Bluebook.
- Oversee and supervise the Athletic Trainer.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Trainer to ensure athletes training needs are met.
- Assist in scheduling the Athletic trainer to make sure all sporting events are appropriately covered.
- To adhere to the MIAA mandated game coverage rule as a Game Administrator/Site Director or assign a designee for all games that someone must be present as written in the MIAA Blue Book.
- The responsibility of making sure all student-athletes are medically cleared by a physician to participate in sports.
- The responsibility of making sure all student-athletes are academically and vocationally eligible to participate in sports.
- Attending the monthly Athletic Director meetings held by the CAC & State Voc Conference.
- The hiring of scorekeepers ticket sellers and all other positions mandated by the MIAA for games and tournament games hosted by the MIAA.
- The scheduling and contracting of all sports contests.
- The preparation of a budget for the athletic program.
- The hiring of officials for home athletic contests.
- The recording and follow-up of athletic injuries.
- The procedures to be followed by coaches for athletes injured during an athletic contest.
- The orientation of new coaches and training is completed prior to the start of employment.
- The hiring supervising and evaluation of head coaches & trainer in the athletic program.
- The supervision of all professional services filming of games laundry reconditioning etc.
- The making of provisions for medical services at contests when required by the MIAA.
- The recommendation of policies in the awarding of varsity letters trophies jackets etc.
- The purchasing of all departmental supplies and equipment.
- Assist administration with interviewing hiring supervision and evaluations of staff.
- The carrying out of any other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- College Degree.
- Years in related work experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial approach to providing services.
- Positive outlook towards serving the district goals.
- Supportive of individual development.
- Responsible for own performance development.
- Open to and solicits feedback from peers subordinates and supervisors.
Additional Requirements:- This position includes but is not limited to: interacting with the public walking around the school standing for periods occasionally lifting and carrying items reading documents using a computer listening and speaking using office equipment maintaining energy throughout the day and handling stress effectively.
Terms of Employment:Effective Dates of Employment:- This is a stipend position for the 2026-2027 school year (July 1 2026 June 30 2027).
Supervisor:Compensation:- The total stipend for this position is $23374 for the entire assignment.
