Power BI UX Designer
Role Descriptions:
- Report & Dashboard Design: Design user-centric high-fidelity Power BI reports and dashboards focusing on layout navigation and usability.
- Data Visualization Strategy: Select the most effective charts and visuals to tell a compelling story with data.
- UI/UX Best Practices: Apply UI/UX principles such as whitespace management consistent color themes and intuitive navigation panes to enhance user experience.
- Wireframing & Prototyping: Create wireframes and mockups of reports before building them in Power BI.
- User Research & Testing: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and test dashboards with end-users to ensure they meet business goals.
- Accessibility & Interactivity: Ensure reports are accessible and use Power BI features like bookmarks tooltips and slicers to create an interactive experience.
- Customization: Design custom themes and backgrounds (e.g. using PowerPoint or Figma) to improve the visual appeal of reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Power BI Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Power BI Desktop including DAX data modelling and visualization capabilities.
- UX/UI Design Skills: Strong understanding of visual design principles color theory typography and layout.
- Data Analysis Skills: Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
- Tools Knowledge: Proficiency in design tools like Figma Sketch or Adobe XD and Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint for creating report backgrounds).
- Communication: Strong communication skills to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- User Adoption Rate: How frequently and efficiently users utilize the dashboard.
- Report Clarity: The ability of users to derive insights without training.
- Performance: Speed and loading time of the reports.
