Architectural Designer Intern Architect
Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an Architectural Designer / Intern Architect to join our Buildings Places team in Ottawa Ontario. This new position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful high-impact projects across Canada while working in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
About the Role
Working under the guidance of licensed architects you will support the design and delivery of a wide range of projects including transportation municipal institutional and government facilities. You will contribute to architectural design technical documentation project coordination and office operations while applying building codes zoning requirements and sustainable design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare architectural designs models and technical drawings using Revit.
- Assist in the development of design and construction documentation in compliance with applicable codes including the Ontario Building Code.
- Support project teams with coordination documentation and consultant integration across multiple disciplines.
- Contribute to BIM standards quality control reviews and sustainable design practices.
- Participate in design discussions reviews and preparation of presentation materials.
- Assist with contract administration activities including shop drawing review and coordination.
- Manage and maintain accurate well-organized project documentation and project files.
- Assist with day-to-day office administrative tasks as required such as preparing meeting.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture (completed or in progress) or a diploma/certificate in Architectural Technology.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingualism (English and French).
- Proficiency in Revit BIM tools MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign).
- Working knowledge of Rhino Enscape and/or V-Ray for modeling and visualization.
- Knowledge of building systems construction detailing and municipal approval processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Interest or experience in sustainable design (LEED Envision Passive House considered assets).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented multidisciplinary environment.
