We are seeking an Intermediate UX Designer to join a government digital services team focused on delivering intuitive accessible and user-centered solutions. You will play a key role in shaping digital products by combining research design thinking and iterative prototyping to create meaningful user experiences.
Key Responsibilities - Design user-friendly visually engaging interfaces across web and mobile platforms
- Apply user-centered design principles and continuously iterate based on user feedback
- Conduct user research interviews and usability testing
- Translate insights into:
- User flows
- Journey maps
- Wireframes & prototypes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Owners Developers Stakeholders)
- Facilitate workshops and present design solutions to stakeholders
- Identify UX challenges and deliver elegant scalable solutions
- Ensure designs are optimized for accessibility and responsive experiences
Must-Have Qualifications - 3 years of experience in UX/UI Design for web and mobile applications
- Strong expertise in user-centered design mobile-first and responsive design
- Proven experience working in Agile (Scrum) environments
- Hands-on experience with Figma (required)
- Proficiency in tools such as Sketch InVision Adobe Creative Suite Axure Zeplin
- Experience creating:
- Wireframes prototypes and user journeys
- Research reports and usability testing outputs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead discussions and present to stakeholders
- Experience working with design systems and service design frameworks
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant UX work (must be accessible without password)
Technical & Nice-to-Have Skills - Familiarity with HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript (React Angular )
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and testing
- Experience in public sector / government projects (preferred)
- Understanding of DABL methodology (Discovery Alpha Beta Live)
- Knowledge of network security and protocols (optional)
Soft Skills - Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
