This has been important to us since we launched 16 years ago with a range of six wallets and remains a priority as we expand into different categories and release over 50 new products a year. Were growing and in need of a Senior Product Developer to help us continue innovating making quality products and keep pace during a time of rapid growth; while not compromising our cradle to cradle philosophy.

Our Product Development team is responsible for taking drawings and concepts from our Design team refining and engineering them in order to bring them into the physical world. When you receive a new design youll need a hands-on approach (think 3D CAD printing testing and prototyping) and will be responsible for shaping it into something practical realistic and production-friendly all while maintaining its original integrity and character.

YOU COULD BE THE ONE IF YOU HAVE

• 5 years experience in a similar role in product development/ engineering
• Love getting your hands dirty in the lab - prototyping testing and hacking things apart to understand how they work believing that the best solutions come from doing rather than just theorising
• Are skilled in 3D CAD injection moulding and 3D printing with experience taking products from concept through to manufacturing
• Bring working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and technical software paired with genuine curiosity about new manufacturing technologies and methods
• Can manage complex projects and deadlines while maintaining strong documentation; youre the type who creates clear processes so things only need to be done once
• Thrive in collaborative environments where you can bounce ideas off teammates and grow together
• Can communicate clearly with people from all backgrounds (youll be interacting a lot with our overseas manufacturers so mandarin fluency would be a welcome bonus)!

IF YOU WERE HERE LAST WEEK YOU MIGHT HAVE

• Discussed a new concept with the design team bringing a product development lens to transform the design into reality
• Used our fully kitted out lab to iterate on some ideas for a new product feature and proofed out the product construction process
• Conducted an FMEA assessment on a project to identify high-risk areas for product development and considered how this information could later inform our product reliability test plan
• Fine-tuned a camera opening on one of our phone cases to meet DFM requirements for injection moulding without losing the design teams surfacing intent then updated the CAD and product specs to lock in the changes
• Checked development samples before suggesting improvements and jumped on a call to troubleshoot a production issue in real time
• Integrated insights from customer service and returns data to engineer solutions for the next generation of products with a focus on durability in high-stress areas.

LOCATION AND HOURS

This is a full time role based at our Collingwood office in Melbourne.
