Reporting to the Head of Risk (Investments) the primary function of this role is to support the Head of Risk (Investments) to provide oversight for investment activities. The candidate will support the Head of Risk (Investments) to provide strategic and constructive risk and compliance advice and support to the Investments and first line risk/compliance teams. The candidate will also have an important role to oversee regulatory change implement best practice compliance management and strengthen risk culture within the investment team.

Key accountabilities:

  • Oversee and monitor adherence to Rests enterprise risk management framework and applicable regulatory obligations and undertake cyclical risk management activities for the Investments business including material risk KRI assessments and oversight of control self-assessments and attestations.
  • Oversee policies and systems to mitigate investment-related risks including valuation liquidity counterparty market operational and ESG risks.
  • Oversee reporting on investment risks (market liquidity and counterparty risks) for Whole of Fund and for each Investment Option with a focus on compensated uncompensated and emerging risks.
  • Maintain compliance obligations register relating to investment activities and monitor regulatory change and oversee the Investment Governance framework and compliance with SPS 530.

Qualifications :

  • Tertiary qualification in finance economics actuarial studies engineering or related discipline.
  • Key designations (e.g. CFA CA) are highly desirable but not mandatory.

    Required experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in investments/financial markets within superannuation funds management or asset consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of investment risk analysis systems and data management to provide effective oversight of investment portfolios across public and private markets.
  • Provide independent analysis on cross-asset class risk factors to challenge portfolio construction and investment decisions using the investment risk system
