Position Summary
The Outreach Worker Supervisor resides within the Alternatives to Incarceration Division and works closely with Outreach Workers the Program Manager SNUG Social Worker and community partners. The mission of this role is to strengthen field operations support staff performance and ensure effective service delivery through supervision coordination and direct engagement.
The Outreach Worker Supervisor (OWS) provides direct supervision leadership and field coordination to Outreach Workers within the SNUG Violence Prevention Program. This role ensures consistent implementation of program strategies staff accountability and high-quality engagement with program participants and community members.
The OWS plays a critical role in daily operations staff development data integrity and violence interruption efforts. This position works closely with the Program Manager to ensure outreach activities are aligned with program goals funder requirements and community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision & Team Leadership
- Supervise Outreach Workers providing daily support guidance and coaching.
- Prepare daily plans and field assignments for outreach staff.
- Conduct daily huddles and end-of-day debriefings.
- Facilitate weekly individual supervisions with staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review performance strategy and safety.
- Spend time in the field with each Outreach Worker to observe support and reinforce best practices.
Field Operations & Program Coordination
- Spend a minimum of four hours per week in the target area alongside the Program Manager.
- Support planning and participation in shooting responses and crisis interventions.
- Assist with planning and facilitating participant events and community activities.
- Ensure each program participant is seen at least once per month and that all contacts are properly documented.
Data & Documentation
- Perform routine data checks to ensure Outreach Worker documentation is complete accurate and timely.
- Monitor required entries and reporting for program compliance.
Participant Engagement
- Maintain direct engagement with program participants modeling effective outreach and relationship-building practices.
- Support case management efforts and coordination of services as needed.
Collaboration & Communication
- Maintain consistent communication with the Program Manager regarding field activity staff performance and emerging community concerns.
- Promote teamwork accountability and alignment with program goals.
- Participate in designated agency committees.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Qualification/Skills:
- Minimum of two years of work experience in street outreach and case management.
- Preference given to individuals who live in or have intimate knowledge of the programs target area.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in high-stress community-based environments.
- Strong organizational written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks multitask effectively and problem-solve in real time.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with staff participants and community members.
- Commitment to trauma-informed culturally responsive engagement.
- Valid New York State drivers license preferred.
SALARY: $57222
