Job Description:
The Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) is responsible for co-ordinating and documenting the admission management and discharge planning ofpatients within the department they are working; the day-to-day assessment and management of the patientsmaintaining high levels of communication with patients and family regarding the nature of their condition and itstreatment; communicating and co-ordinating care with the team; arranging consultation with other staff whenappropriate and; and arranging discharge and liaising with local medical officers and other community based caremodalities in order to ensure the provision of optimal patient care within the St Vincents Health Network. The SRMO year is particularly suited to Residents (PGY3s and above) intending to pursue a career in internal
medicine rehabilitation general practice psychiatry palliative care or other specialties requiring appropriateexperience to fulfil training path requirements.
