A great opportunity has become available for an experienced Export Control / Trade ComplianceOfficer to join our team.This role will be responsible for customs compliance of businesss import and export activities including export control regimes namely with Australian and U.S. export laws and will advise the business on trade compliance issues and solutions.

YOUR ROLE
Ensuring that all projects and business support functions strictly comply with the requirements of the Australian U.S. (ITAR EAR) European and all other applicable export control rules and regulations
Keeping the businesses informed regarding export control and global trade developments
Creating and maintaining procedures and instructions to comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the area of trade compliance
Ensuring that Project teams fully understand their access re-export and transfer obligations
Assisting with internal compliance reviews and audits; and conducting spot checks on processes and trade compliance data integrity
Providing trade compliance oversight solutions and recommendations in facilitating import and export activities such as guidance on tariffs Tariff Concession Orders Free Trade Agreements and maintaining compliance with the Australian Trusted Trader program and other Customs obligations
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Experience in interpretation and implementation of government policy.
3-4 years of experience in international trade compliance export control
Experience with Australian and U.S. export controls laws and experience in overall compliance with facilitating import and export activities.
Tertiary qualifications in international commerce economics policy or international relations will be highly regarded as will previous experience in the Defence industry in a trade/export control compliance role
GOOD TO KNOW
Prior to being offered employment you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks. Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain NV1 security clearance.
Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website In some cases individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role.
The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role. The U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) are applicable and as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
