Deputy Nursery Manager

As Deputy Nursery Manager youll work closely with the Nursery Manager to lead the setting inspire the team and ensure the highest standards of care and education throughout.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Third in Charge or strong Room Leader ready to take the next step in their career and make a lasting impact within a nurturing forward-thinking environment.

What Were Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent) minimum requirement.
  • Proven experience in a senior role within a nursery setting (Third in Charge Senior Room Leader or similar).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding the EYFS child development and best practice.
  • Experience supporting staff performance mentoring practitioners and leading by example.
  • Confident in supporting the operational and compliance aspects of running a nursery.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive proactive leader who thrives in a hands-on team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the setting.
  • Deputise in the Managers absence ensuring smooth and compliant operations.
  • Lead motivate and mentor staff to deliver outstanding early years practice.
  • Oversee planning observations and assessments in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Monitor quality safeguarding health & safety and regulatory compliance across the nursery.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers promoting open communication and trust.
  • Contribute to recruitment staff development and performance management.
  • Help drive occupancy reputation and continuous improvement within the setting.
