The HSE Advisor (Allied Health) provides operational support to promote workplace health safety and wellbeing through intervention injury prevention and return to work activities. Working under the guidance of the Senior HSE Advisor (Allied Health) they will focus on supporting workers to stay healthy work safely and recover effectively following an injury.
In addition to these frontline responsibilities the position plays a key role in driving HSE compliance and continuous improvement by developing implementing and championing best practice processes aligned with the 2025-2028 HSE Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver onsite assessments and provide advice for musculoskeletal or ergonomic risks and implement mitigation controls to reduce the potential for injuries.
Encourage early reporting and assist with tirage and referral to appropriate allied health providers.
Conduct pre-employment and functional assessments to confirm workers physical capacity and identify adjustments required for safe work performance.
Compete ergonomic reviews of operational environments with a focus on manual handling techniques.
Provide practical coaching to workers and client stakeholders to improve posture movement and task design.
Support the development and monitoring of suitable duties plans.
Provide site based follow up and guidance to ensure sustainable return to work outcomes.
Participate in safety and wellbeing initiatives such as toolbox talks health checks and wellness campaigns.
Maintain accurate records of assessments early intervention sessions and employee progress in line with HSE systems workers compensation and privacy requirements.
As an SME lead on site investigations to identify contributing factors root cause and improvement actions.
Maintain accurate records in accordance with HSE works compensation and privacy legislation.
Providing support to internal stakeholders to achieve their HSE based KPIs and accountabilities through learning and development.
Support compliance with ISO45001 and internal assurance frameworks.
Collaborate with the broader HSE team to drive measurable reductions in injury frequency claims costs and time lost.
Participate in HSE team activities such as team meetings and information sharing.
Foster a safe inclusive and supportive workplace culture where all colleagues feel appreciated valued and motivated.

Job Requirement
Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology Physiotherapist Exercise Science Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
Exercise and Sports Science Australia accreditation Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
2-5 years experience in similar role within a large and complex organisation.
Additional training or short courses in workplace health and safety functional assessments or clinical screening.
Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology Physiotherapist Exercise Science Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
Exercise and Sports Science Australia accreditation Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
2-5 years experience in similar role within a large and complex organisation.
Additional training or short courses in workplace health and safety functional assessments or clinical screening.
Utilisation of ICAM or equivalent industry recognised incident investigation methodologies. (desirable)
Utilisation of Solv or equivalent claims management software. (desirable)
Minimum 2-5 years experience in a similar role with expertise in developing and implementing early intervention work readiness and rehabilitation programs within an industrial or field-based environment.
Strong understanding of ergonomic principles functional capacity evaluation and legislative frameworks for workers compensation and rehabilitation.
Demonstrated expertise in utilisation of technology to support evidenced based programs and improvements.
Conducting on site assessments for the identification of muscular skeletal hazards and the development of improvement initiatives.
Providing coaching to both internal and external stakeholders for injury prevention and continuous improvement.
Background in collecting biometric data and completing health data accurately.
Experience in incident investigations that identify contributing factors root causes and improvement actions.
Demonstrated success in coordinating with clients and candidates efficiently.
Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support health safety and injury prevention initiatives.
Strong interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to develop trust and influence others across diverse teams.
Ability to work independently within established frameworks and escalate complex cases as required.
