Attention all college students! We are seeking highly motivated and analytically oriented individuals to join our team as Interns. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of Data Analysis Investments and Accounting in a supportive and dynamic work environment.

As an intern youll be a part of the Treasury environment working alongside seasoned professionals while receiving an introduction to the real-world professional experience. You will also:

Gain practical experience in various aspects of your field from professionals invested in your career growth.
Mentorship from experienced professionals in the field.
Networking opportunities within the industry.
Translate skills developed in the classroom to real world applications
Develop a broader portfolio of projects and experiences to draw upon for future opportunities

This internship will be a nine-week program and begin Monday June 1 and run until Friday July 31 2026. Selection decisions will be made no later than March 31 2026.

Minimum Qualifications

All Intern candidates must be:
-At least 18 years of age and be enrolled in a two- or four-year or graduate-level program.
-Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale or 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for graduate student applicants.
-Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Teams).

The Department of the Treasury is seeking the following:

1-Data Analyst Intern:
Attention all data enthusiasts! We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically oriented individual to join our team as a Data Analyst Intern. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of data analysis in a supportive and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:
1. Assist in collecting organizing and analyzing large sets of data
2. Create domain specific chatbots that provide employees with standardized answers to commonly asked questions.
3. Create predictive risk model to augment work performed by external consulting firms.

Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science Computer Science Mathematics or a related field; Junior or Senior Undergrad level or higher.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Python.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Self-motivated and independently driven to solve problems and find solutions.

2-Trust Accounting Intern:
Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and finance We are seeking a motivated Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various governmental accounting functions within a supportive and professional environment.

Responsibilities:
1. Assist with Financial Reporting: Support preparing financial statements reports and analyses.
2. Data Entry and Reconciliation: Contribute to accurate and timely data entry bank reconciliations and financial record maintenance.
3. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in processing invoices payments and receipts ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
4. Documentation: Maintain organized and well-documented records of financial transactions and processes.

Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and numerical aptitude.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

3-Investments Intern:
Are you an analytically oriented individual with a passion for investments and finance We are seeking an Investments Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various investment functions within a supportive and professional environment.

Responsibilities:
1. Analysis of Local Government Investment Pool (LGIP) Cash Flows: Support predictive modeling of portfolio cash flows through identification of material contribution and withdrawal patterns among investment fund participants.
2. Market Surveillance: Support proactive monitoring of investment credit quality through improvement of automated surveillance tools.
3. Investment Analyses: Support the analysis of the investment activities provided by both internal and external portfolio managers.

Requirements:
Ability to approach and creatively solve analytical problems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Currently pursuing a degree in Finance Business or a related field; Junior Senior Undergrad level or higher

Additional Considerations

1-Data Analyst Intern:
Previous coursework or experience in data analysis.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI Excel or R.
Familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning concepts.
Knowledge of how to develop and train generative AI chatbots.

2-Trust Accounting Intern:
Previous coursework or experience in accounting.
Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
Knowledge of relevant accounting software applications

3-Investments Intern:
Previous coursework or experience in investments.
Familiarity with fixed-income securities and practices.
Knowledge of relevant accounting software applications.
