AI & Digital Engineering Intern Sabah Deepwater

We are seeking for motivated individuals to join our 2026 Internship Program. As an intern you will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts and gain hands-on experience.

Whats the role

The Sabah Deepwater team is seeking highly motivated interns with backgrounds in Engineering Computer Science Data Science or related disciplines to support our fast-cycle AI and digital transformation initiatives. Interns will work on capstone projects that span ideation prototyping development and deployment of artificial intelligence solutions that enhance operational excellence safety and efficiency across deepwater operations.

What youll be doing

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in end-to-end AI project lifecycle: problem framing data acquisition model development validation and deployment.

• Work with multidisciplinary engineers to identify automation and optimization opportunities within Sabah Deepwater operations.

• Develop scripts dashboards or machine learning models to support decision-making and operational insights.

• Prototype and test digital solutions in sandbox environments before operationalization.

• Document findings methods and results in clear technical reports and presentations.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives through rapid experimentation and iteration.

What you bring

Internship Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Engineering (any discipline) Computer Science Data Science Software Engineering or equivalent.

• Strong interest in AI machine learning or digital engineering applications.

• Experience with Python data analytics tools or cloud platforms is an advantage.

• Minimum CGPA 3.0 and above.

• Minimum 3-month internship commitment but highly preferred up to 6 months and above. Start Date April 2026 onwards

• Strong analytical problemsolving and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes in fast-paced settings.

• Positive learning attitude and willingness to explore new technologies.

Learning Outcomes

• Hands-on experience developing AI/ML solutions for real operational challenges.

• Exposure to deepwater upstream processes and digital transformation initiatives.

• Practical understanding of data engineering model deployment pipelines and visualization tools.
