Product Support Engineer
Position Summary
The Product Support Engineer is responsible for supporting equipment used in the U.S. market and serving as a key technical resource across engineering manufacturing project execution and customer-focused teams. This role requires deep mechanical understanding strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across global engineering groups.
Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities)
- Develop a strong understanding of the mechanicaland to a lesser extent electromechanicaloperation of the equipment.
- Become familiar with key customer accounts and their unique equipment requirements.
- Support the Equipment Sales Team by evaluating and surveying potential sites and projects where specialty equipment may be applied including both integrated solutions and equipmentonly sales.
- Work with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to resolve equipment issues and serve as a liaison between the U.S. office and Veghel R&D/Product Lifecycle Management.
- Identify potential manufacturing issues design improvements modifications and costreduction opportunities including customerdriven requests.
- Support Mechanical Project Engineering in resolving integration issues involving assigned products.
- Assist Project Management and Site Management with installation integration and startup issues for equipment used on active projects.
- Support Supply Chain in localization efforts for equipment.
- Write or maintain assembly installation operation and maintenance manuals.
- Verify ESoT library functionality and accuracy prior to release.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of fulltime experience in mechanical product design or mechanical project engineering within the material handling industry.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (Competencies)
- Knowledge of time management and scheduling practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience with SolidWorks Composer.
- Knowledge of both metric and imperial measurement systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret welding symbols material properties and machine design concepts.
- Understanding of engineering science and technology including application of design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of design techniques tools and standards for generating technical drawings blueprints and models.
- Knowledge of mathematics including arithmetic algebra geometry trigonometry and statistics.
- Professional and courteous communication skills both verbally and in writing with coworkers vendors leadership and customers.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow privacy protocols.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a fulltime position Monday through Friday with flexible hours. Work may begin between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and end between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. with a required 1hour lunch break.
Travel
This position requires up to 25% travel.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration. Noise levels in job sites and manufacturing facilities may be loud.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- This role involves physical activity including standing walking bending kneeling stooping crouching crawling and climbing during site visits.
