JobSummary:OperationsManageris responsible fordriving the continuous improvement of our processes and systems in the production and logistic departmentsof South Americain support of strategicobjectives. This role provides leadershipdirectionand hands-on involvement while managing personnel and processes in areas of strategic team member will have direct management ofT&Oorganization includeswarehousingdistributionand transportation while being accountable for the Production factories via management of theOperation.
EssentialResponsibilities:
Develop an understanding of theon-goingbusiness strategy andtakesa proactive role in collaborating with other departments; collaborates and influences department leaders to ensure coordination of production qualitycontroland logistic functions.
Establishes quantitative metrics consistent with optimization of cost quality technologyserviceand delivery.
Works on complex functional areas and corporate level issues requiring detailed analysis and knowledge of production andlogisticsbest practices and tools.
Ensures all production and logistic procedures and policies meet regulatory and compliance guidelines in collaboration with QHSE.
Identifiesand implements best in class technology/infrastructure suitable to the scope and size of the business along with disciplines that underlie production andlogistics
Develops regional best practicesregardingsystems such as integration and optimization inventory control delivery and demand planning andimplementing.
Drives process improvements to achieve strategy goals for safety quality and costutilizingKaizen events Lean and Six Sigma.
Provides input and recommendations for the identification andselectionof improvement projects
Establishes and meets project qualitydeliveryand costobjectives.
Monitors departmental budgets andassistsin defining annual operating and capital budgets has budgetary approval responsibility.
Designs the regional strategic plan for production andlogistics.
Prepares and delivers monthly reports tocorporate.
EnsuresfacilitycomplianceSafety Management (PSM) EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) rules and ISO.
Manages &mentorsmanagers supervisors professionalstaffand production/logistic associates.
Establishes andmaintainsprofessional rapport with internal and external customers.
Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paceddeadline drivenenvironment.
Must be willing to take a hands-on approach with both tactical and strategic initiatives.
Follow all guidelines and Hempel proceduresregardingQuality Health and Safety and Environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelordegree in related field.
10 years ofdirectly relatedexperience in an industrial environment.Chemical/coatings industrypreferred
Experience inInternational trade(distribution/logistics)
Programs (RMP) regulations and ISO Standards.
Excellent written and oral communication skills organizational and planning skills facilitation skills computerskills.English
Ability to achieve results through others.
Flexibleanalyticaland detailed oriented.
Six Sigma and/or Lean Certificationsa plus
Microsoft Office MS Project.
